Emil married Miss Martha Weber at the Fillmore County Courthouse on 11 November 1915. Emil and Martha farmed in Fillmore County, Nebraska until 1934. They then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and lived there for about 2 years. In 1937 they moved to Missouri, but did not like it there so returned to Geneva. In 1939 they returned to farming near Ohiowa and continued with this until 1966 when they retired. Emil and Martha were the parents of 4 sons: Leonard, Donald, Clifford and Wesley.
