Research Fees:
I charge $25.00 per hour for research time + expenses (i.e. copies, mailing, rental fees, mileage, etc.). I work from a retainer with a requirement of a minimum of a 6 hour retainer to initiate a research project.
Note: If you need only a single record photocopied see the piecework pricing below. In general individual record charges are available when you need only one record.
For more comprehensive projects it is more cost effective to initiate a research agreement. Please request a copy of the research agreement, complete all of the information requested and mail to me with your retainer.
Pricing for Individual Records:
- Obituaries - $7.50 each with date of death (St. Joseph, Missouri only)
- Wills - $10.00 each + copy fees
- Probate files - $10.00 each + copy fees
- Marriage records $7.50 each + copy fees
- Land records $10.00 each + copy fees

I use a digital camera to take pictures and can send you the digital file, print on photo quality paper or a laminated print on 20 lb paper. If you prefer a standard 35 mm photograph on film this service is also available. The pricing is listed below:
- Digital photos sent to you by e-mail: $5.00 (1st photo), $1.00
- Digital photos on photographic paper mailed to you: $10.00 (1st photo), $2.00 (subsequent photos in same vicinity) + mileage if outside of St. Joseph city limits
- 35 mm film photographs: $10.00 each, $3.00 (subsequent photos in same vicinity) + film and processing fees + mileage if outside of St. Joseph city limits.
