Dayle Donald Rippe was the second child of Will and Anna Rippe nee Gewecke. He was born in Fillmore County, Nebraska on 04 June 1919. Dayle was raised and educated in Fillmore County, graduating from Ohiowa High School in 1936. After high school he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and graduated with BS and MS degrees in 1940 and 1946, respectively. He married Elizabeth Davis of Lincoln, Nebraska. Dayle and Elizabeth were the parents of three sons: Richard, James and William. Dayle was killed while trying to board a train on his way to work on 14 June 1965. He was buried in Mt. Kisco, New York.
