Harold Rippe, the first child of Will and Anna Rippe nee Gewecke was born in Fillmore County, Nebraska on 19 March 1911. He attended schools in Fillmore County and graduated in 1929 from the Ohiowa High School. When he was 20 years old he married Miss Audra Theobald. They were the parents of two children Rogene and Rodney Rippe.
