Sophie Pfingsten, the oldest child of Mary Rippe and August Pfingsten married Edward Strauss on 27 May 1920. She was born 01 July 1901 in Fillmore County, Nebraska. She and Edward were the parents of three children: Lillian, Earl and Birdeen Strauss.
