Mary was the eldest child of Henry and Catherine Rippe nee Roetter. She was born in 1880 while her parents were still living in Will County, Illinois. She was married twice, first to August Pfingsten and after his death in 1913, she married his brother Charles Pfingsten. Mary lived most of her life in Fillmore County, Nebraska.
