Research has not been conducted for this line of Staffords, who descend from William through his son James Stafford. Only preliminary information is available at this time  It is a lateral line to Robert Stafford, a brother to James Stafford.  It is presented here for those of you who are researching other lines descending from William Stafford.

Wiley Stafford and wife 

 

28.  Wiley4 Stafford  (William1 James2 Grant3) Born 17 September 1828 probably in Morgan County, Indiana1 died 10 September 1857.2  The final settlement of Wiley's estate was completed on 06 February 1862 in Morgan County, Indiana.3  Wiley married Sarah Slaughter.4  They had two daughters, Mary Jane, who died in infancy and Francis Ann, who married Calvin Ely.4 Wiley Stafford apparently lived all of his life in Morgan County, Indiana.  He is listed on only the 1850 census. Wiley died without a will in the fall of 1857 at the young age of 28 years.  The cause of his death is not known.

 

Following his death, it is thought that his widow married Bales Breedlove and moved to Marion County, Indiana.   

 

At this time no additional information is available for Wiley Stafford.
